You are working across disciplines and with businesses and organizations outside of PSU to develop real-world solutions as part of a team. Our 4+1 program allows you to earn your Bachelor’s degree in four years then go straight into the graduate program, where you can earn your Master’s degree in a year. Each semester PSU students fan out across the globe to study in Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, Hungary, Japan, Ireland, Spain, and South Africa — to name a few. You can study abroad through one of our preferred providers or with a PSU international partner school and domestically through the National Student Exchange. With an exchange program, your PSU tuition remains precisely the same. Additionally, we have a variety of short-term, faculty-led trips that the students can take.
Plymouth State University evolved from Holmes Plymouth Academy, which dates back to 1808 as a pioneer institution for teacher training. As early as 1836, the Reverend Charles Brooks lectured before the Legislature of New Hampshire and throughout the state on regular schools. An “act for the establishment and management of a state normal school for the better training of teachers” was passed in 1870.
Today, Plymouth State University is a comprehensive regional university offering a rich, student-focused learning environment for undergraduate, graduate, and non-traditional students. PSU offers 52 undergraduate majors and 70 minors.
