The Academic Assistance Program is designed to meet the needs of first-year, degree-seeking students whose ACT scores or high school grades do not meet general admission criteria. This program consists of a prescribed set of courses selected to develop the skills needed to succeed in university. The hours are limited, and the student's progress will be monitored. Student Success Services provides students with assistance in many areas. Those students with documented disabilities can be given accommodations based on their disability, for example, extra time on tests for students with learning disabilities, closed caption videos for deaf students, large print texts for visually impaired students, etc. Other students who need help with necessary study skills, organizational strategies, reading, writing, and mathematics can meet one-on-one with tutors throughout the semester. All PIU students can participate in the tutor-led study sessions for quizzes and exams. Our tutors are also qualified to teach research skills and give guidance with academic essays and research papers. We are here to serve the student body of PIU to be successful in all of their classes. The Student Success Center can be found on the 3rd floor of Deeds - D312. Hours of operation are sent out via email each week.
Piedmont International University is pleased to provide the following information regarding our institution's graduation/completion rates. The information is provided in compliance with the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. The rates reflect the graduation/completion status of students who enrolled during the 2012-2013 school year, and for whom 150% of the normal time-to-completion has elapsed.
Our graduation/completion rate for those students who entered our programs in Fall 2012 is 45%. The students included in the graduation/completion rate consist of students who entered as a first-time, full-time, certificate, or degree-seeking student. Our retention rate for first-time bachelor seeking students who entered in the Fall of 2017 and returned during the Fall 2018 semester is 63%.
