Our school is a community. Parents, teachers, and students come together to share and grow with each other. We believe parents should be involved in the educational process. We also believe that teachers and students should communicate closely so that individual students’ needs can be met. Education can inspire, transform and change the world. Our goal is to motivate, guide, and be instruments for our students to lead the change. Through the gifts of Islam, we’re advancing and contributing knowledge to the world.
Our school is surrounded by the natural beauty of green spaces, promoting calmness and tranquility in our students and staff. At Oman Private School, we provide unique facilities to complement student learning. Our facilities include a science lab with the most advanced equipment, a library with books of various languages, an outdoor sporting facility, an indoor swimming pool, a state-of-the-art computer lab, and inspiring classrooms with Hi Teach smart boards. In addition, we have a separate play area for our kindergarten students.
Our core objective is to help students connect with their Islamic values while gaining an incredibly high level of worldly education. Modern education has been criticized as the practice of “memorizing facts for tests”. And it’s true. Throughout the world, this is what education has become. But that’s why our objectives are so critical. We’re seeking to restore education to what it should be: a source of life skills, character development, knowledge, wisdom, and leadership in excellence.
Our teachers are the heart of our school. They are a strong team of educators who work collaboratively to provide the best educational experience for our students. The majority of our English medium teachers are from Canada. We also have teachers who are from The United States of America, The United Kingdom, and South Africa.
In addition, all of our teachers pursue professional development to ensure that they are constantly learning, growing, and maintaining the high level of education that we provide. Our teachers are passionate, caring, talented, and know-how to challenge their students to extract their potential. Teaching is their life’s work, and they’re honored to help your child learn and grow.
When we talk about education and what it means, what we want to know is how to instill in our students the knowledge that will make them better learners and better people. How can we be sure that we send them off into life with the skills they need to grow and develop in a successful, happy way? Now in our 50th year, we’re more dedicated than ever to developing international education that creates a better world.
The IB offers an education for students from age 3 to 19, comprising of four programs that focus on teaching students to think critically and independently, and how to inquire with care and logic. The IB prepares students to succeed in a world where facts and fiction merge in the news, and where asking the right questions is a crucial skill that will allow them to flourish long after they’ve left our programs. We are supported by IB teachers and coordinators who develop and promote the IB’s curriculums in almost 5,000 schools globally every day, in over 150 countries around the world.
Our enriching extra-curricular activities provide students with an incredible opportunity to broaden their learning, form bonds with each other, and have fun along the way. Complex concepts are taught in a hands-on manner that helps students learn the real-life application behind their education. Our pre-schoolers & kindergarteners also engage in team-building activities which teach respect and consideration of others. They’re cared for by passionate teachers who are dedicated to giving them the best experience possible.
Each classroom is fully equipped with Hi Teach Interactive Boards to make learning more engaging. We believe that technology in the classroom increases motivation and provides students with the skills they need for the modern world. We are also proud members of various educational associations. This enables our staff and students to access powerful educational resources such as virtual libraries, and enjoy the latest software technology.
