EduCativPosted July 31, 2021SharePosted July 31, 2021 Founded in 1964, Canterbury School celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014. At Canterbury, the foundation of our school is based upon four tenets: academics, leadership, character, and service. These tenets work in conjunction with key aspects that create a great “prep” school - a strong honor code, exceptional academics, and cocurricular, as well as meaningful relationships. Our solid foundation is due, in part, to the dedicated faculty, staff, and administrators that make Canterbury School a top-notch school. They create an atmosphere of support, encouraging our students to take risks, think critically, become leaders, and strive for success. Canterbury’s history is rich in leadership and vision by those who have come before us as donors, visionaries, and volunteers. Together they have set the course for what Canterbury is today, a well-respected educational institution producing students who are prepared for success in college and beyond. For more than five decades, Canterbury School has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to academic excellence, preparing students to excel in the world. From its first faculty member in 1964, Canterbury’s outstanding faculty has nurtured the individual potential in each student. The challenge, support and recognize the individual learning journey of a diverse student body. Today’s mission of academic excellence, leadership, character, and service is evident by the contributions of more than 1000 Canterbury alumni all over the world. Our work continues to honor our rich history while envisioning our next 50 years of service. Canterbury offers more than 30 clubs and organizations on campus including robotics, Science Olympiad, Mock Trial, and Model UN. Additionally, students participate in a variety of local, state, national, and international scholastic competitions. At Canterbury, we understand that students thrive best in a rigorous academic environment where they feel supported and known for their strengths and talents. The goal of the admission process is to bring students to Canterbury School at a time when they are ready to explore and develop those talents and find success. We truly enjoy working with families who are seeking an education that will prepare their children not only for the world as it is but as it will be. We develop explorers, thinkers, leaders, innovators, and humanitarians. Canterbury School’s college preparatory curriculum helps students grow to gain skills, knowledge, and the ability to reason to meet the demands of a college education and to succeed in everyday life. Canterbury provides a demanding yet supportive environment in which students are challenged, learn, take risks, and excel. To prepare students for success in the art of leading a meaningful life, Canterbury School envisions an academic environment focused on inquiry-based learning. With this in mind, we believe that technology serves as both a tool for learning that expands our instructional repertoire and a vehicle that broadens the learning capacity of teachers and students alike. At every grade level, students experience technology-enhanced learning. Our courses deliver a significant portion of the materials online while maintaining traditional face-to-face communication in the classroom.View full schoolQuoteLink to commentShare on other sitesMore sharing options...
