Traill International School (TIS) welcomes children and students from the ages of three to 18. Our school caters to students from a wide range of backgrounds and is proud to be considered as truly international, with students of over 30 different nationalities enrolled.
Our curriculum follows the British National Curriculum. At the age of 16, students sit the IGCSE examinations in eight subjects and then complete a further two years for their A-levels. These are all external examinations, set and marked by the University of Cambridge, and are recognized by universities throughout the world as being of the highest standard. We believe that, with these qualifications, students will have the greatest chance of success after they leave school, whether it be at university or in the workplace. TIS students have consistently enjoyed excellent examination results – well above the average for both UK and international schools – and this year promises to be the same. Year after year, Traill students win the Cambridge “Top in Thailand” awards for various subjects and categories, and we are committed to ensuring that this record continues.
We aim to produce confident and accomplished young adults who have the necessary qualifications, experience, and social skills to rise to the top. So, in addition to the rigorous and demanding academic program, there is a strong emphasis on sports, expressive arts, and other extra-curricular activities. Despite the relatively small number of students at the school, we have enjoyed notable successes in numerous interschool competitions, particularly in basketball and tennis. We aim to challenge all students at the school in as many areas as possible and we have an active gifted program for the ablest. This is an important part of our curriculum and one which will be developed further this academic year.
Traill International School is a growing school but the class sizes remain small and there is a strong, supportive and caring ethos. We recognize the importance of making all students feel safe and secure at school to allow for optimum learning. At Traill, everybody is somebody. We have a dedicated team of teaching and support staff¬, who have high expectations of all the students, and who lead through their example. Traill is renowned for its friendly atmosphere, where students gain the confidence to excel in their areas of choice.
At TIS we believe that a broad, coherent, and rigorous education with a global outlook conducted in an environment that nurtures mutual respect and concern for the welfare of others is the key to producing successful learning communities.
