The Mahatma Gandhi School founded in 1950 is dedicated to providing educational and supportive services enabling children to have a safe and successful childhood.

The school has a tradition of more than half a century in providing quality education which speaks of commitment and reliability.

The Mahatma Gandhi Schools at Kemayoran and Pasar Baru are run by Yayasan Gandhi Semesta Prima (an affiliate of Gandhi Seva Loka).

The human soul, without education, is like marble in the quarry, which shows none of its inherent beauties till the skill of the polisher fetches out the colors, makes the surface shine, and discovers every ornamental cloud, spot, and vein that runs through the body of it. What sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to the soul.

We are committed to providing a conducive and caring atmosphere to all our students, just apt for the young minds to be nurtured. The atmosphere at school must be an amalgamation of modern trends and invaluable tradition in a truly child-friendly environment. We aim to inculcate in our student's great self-discipline, intense perseverance, and zeal to excel which are the qualities required to meet the challenges of modern society. Our curriculum embraces the holistic development of the student as the cornerstone of all schooling activity, ensuring a fine and healthy balance in the development and blossoming of the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains of the learner. We ensure that the assessment techniques are meant to assess the comprehension of various concepts by the child and the application of the same for problem-solving and/or employing life skills not mere memorization and rote-learning from the textbooks.

The school encourages students to participate in several co-curricular activities like speech contests: recitation, storytelling, and declamation Sports Basket Ball, Foot Ball, Volley Ball, Martial Arts Athletics Educational field trips Craft, and Dramatics, etc.

Students regularly participate in extracurricular activities like dancing – classical, folk / contemporary vocal music – choir, solo, duets, instrumental music Martial Arts Outings – Excursions and picnics fashion shows cooking, Digital Photography celebrating festivals for cultivating multicultural respect and anniversaries of famous personalities, etc. The school organizes exhibitions, cultural shows, Parents Day, Variety Program, Sports at various intervals.

At MGS we encourage professionals from various fields to visit and talk to students to bring about awareness, expose them to various options so that they can weigh the pros and cons of any venture that they opt to undertake.
