Marymount Paris is an outstanding private school for children aged 2 to 14. We are the oldest international school in France, and have a rich history of inclusion and diversity, offering a warm welcome to children from a wide range of countries, cultures, and religions. Our ethos is founded on Catholic values, which underpin daily life at Marymount. Our spacious and verdant campus is beautiful. We are fortunate to have wonderful facilities: a sports hall, three gymnasia, a library, a performing arts theatre, dedicated music rooms, a bright and spacious art room with a pottery studio, a chapel, a dining hall, excellent IT and science resources, a FABLAB, and leafy gardens for outdoor learning. Our program of enriching educational visits makes the best use of the cultural treasures of Paris and the rest of France.
Our international parent body offers exceptional support to those who are new to Paris. The Parent-Teacher Organization also leads enrichment and social activities throughout the year, and the seasonal goûters and BBQs are not to be missed! Children benefit from a dedicated French lesson every day and Francophones follow the French National Curriculum program of language study. We encourage children to speak in both languages as much as possible. We warmly invite you to come and see for yourself what makes Marymount such a special place for children to learn and grow.
The PTO is at the center of our family community and provides a much-appreciated support network for new parents and children. Their contributions to the life of the school through fundraising, event organizing, and providing a 'soft-landing to families who arrive during the year are the social glue that underpins our unique Marymount culture. All parents are automatically included in the PTO when they enroll their children.
We draw on the expert knowledge of our highly qualified teaching team to make sure our young people thrive. We set high expectations for each child in our care and provide extra challenge or support for those who need it. Our curriculum maps show how engaging units of study promote truly international education.
Safeguarding children is a concept that reaches beyond child protection to incorporate the additional aims of preventing the harm of children’s health and development, ensuring children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care. It is an umbrella term used in schools to describe the process of protecting children from abuse or neglect, preventing impairment of their health and development, and ensuring that they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables children to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully.
We take campus security and safety seriously. We want our young people to flourish in a safe environment. All staff undergoes annual safeguarding training. In alignment with CIS/ITFCP, we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective security practices with specific attention to child protection. We adopt stringent safer recruitment practices. Candidates for employment are required to undergo rigorous background checks for every country they have worked and resided in. We also verify references and qualifications before contracts are signed.
