AL Mahd Day Boarding School (AMDBS) began in October 1997 with 40 students and two villas. Today we have three full-fledged campuses in Saar, Samaheej, and East Riffa and over 2500 students. In 2004, the school was awarded International Center Status by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), of Cambridge University, which is one of the world’s leading providers of educational qualifications and assessments. This status reflects the quality of teaching and the high standards of administration demonstrated throughout the school.
We believe that such quality education should be affordable. Therein lays the charm of Al Mahd. However, no introduction can provide a complete picture of our school. The aim of education at Al Mahd is to promote a balanced development of our children through a well-structured curriculum and healthy environment.
We also believe that education is not just about acquiring knowledge but about the all-around development of the child. A complete education should enable a child: To distinguish between right and wrong. To think logically and make sound decisions. To have a reasonably wide general knowledge of the world. To express himself clearly, in speech or writing, in more than one language. To develop habits that promote good health. To be a responsible citizen of the world.
Children are the most valuable assets of a nation. To develop their personality, character & skills, good quality of education is very vital. A child's talents can be well developed only in a school with a carefully designed curriculum and extracurricular activities. Al Mahd Day Boarding School provides all this and more at a reasonable cost to make good quality education affordable for all.
The school has a dedicated, experienced, and well-qualified professional team of administrators, teachers, and support staff. Our mission is to produce model citizens who know how to use their knowledge for the benefit of their community, country, and humanity.
