Ysgol Nebo is a small rural school with magnificent views of the mountains and coastline. It is a very homely community with excellent links between the workforce, pupils, governors, parents, and the local community. The school’s motto is “ Working together” and this applies to the school’s community.

Every child has a key role in the planning and daily arrangements and they all have an opportunity to develop according to their ability and their full potential. The school believes that the parents have a crucial role and an open door scheme and a home/school agreement have been established. This school provides an education that assists the pupils to fulfill their full potential in a homely, sustainable, kind, equal environment.

Ysgol Nebo is committed to the Gwynedd Healthy schools Scheme and works on stage 4 of the scheme by now. The scheme enables the school to make a positive contribution to the health and well-being of the pupils, teachers, and the wider community through developing a health-promoting environment.

A Healthy School presents aspects of health and safety through the following:

• The National Curriculum/Foundation Phase activities
• The Hidden Curriculum and the school’s ethos
• Develop the existing links between the home, the community, and other specialist agencies.

Ysgol Nebo is a small, rural school that is happy and friendly, with the pupils having an important role in the daily arrangements. Every pupil has an opportunity to develop according to his/her ability, and the best support that the teachers can provide. The school is divided into two classes - nursery, reception, years one and two with Miss Hughes and Anti Alwen (morning), and years three, four, five, and six with Mrs. Roberts Jones, Mrs. Roberts, and Anti Alwen in the afternoon. The school believes that parents have a crucial role in the child’s development, and consequently, there is an open door here, where the parents can visit the school at any time, by prior arrangement, to come and discuss their children. One parent described Ysgol Nebo as a homely school - this is the staff and governors’ exact aim and objective, namely that the children feel safe and confident and therefore prosper.
