Ynysmaerdy Primary School website via the Neath Port Talbot Learning Gateway. We hope that this website will provide an insight into some of the fantastic work that goes on in our school. We are extremely proud of all that we do in the school. The Staff and Governors of Ynysmaerdy Primary School aim to provide a stimulating education in a safe and happy environment where children will develop their full potential to become confident and responsible citizens of the future.

Ynysmaerdy Primary school is situated in an established residential area of Briton Ferry, some two miles from the center of Neath. The school dates back to the nineteenth century and the accommodation comprises of a single-story Victorian building together with an annex in a converted chapel adjacent to the main school building. The area has an intake of pupils that represents the full range of ability. English is the predominant language spoken at home and none of the pupils speak Welsh as a first language.
