At Uphall Primary school we aim to provide children with a happy, secure, and stimulating learning experience. We believe that all children have the right to be respected and have the responsibility to learn how to respect others. Our school strives to reach the highest possible standard in everything we do and in doing this, supports children to become confident, independent learners with a thirst to continually learn and to do better. We offer creative learning opportunities that stimulate, excite, and enrich, making your child successful now and for the future. We place the quality of relationships as a high priority for our staff, pupils, and parents and therefore, expect that everyone within the learning environment will speak courteously to one another.

The staff and governors at Uphall Primary School are fully committed to providing the best possible education for all our children. We value and respect each child’s background and experience so that we can develop the whole child.

We aim to do this by helping children to:

Uphall Primary is proud that its curriculum is accessible to pupils regardless of their background or starting point. We want all our pupils to be excited and enjoy the education diet we give them every day whilst ensuring that they all make excellent progress across the curriculum.

Our curriculum is broad and balanced and follows the Developmental Matters and the National Curriculum. We teach all subjects set out in the National Curriculum – English (which includes Drama), maths, Science, Geography, History, Design and Technology, Art and Design, Physical Education (which includes, Gymnastic, Dance, Swimming, Athletics and Tennis) and Music (which includes singing). All pupils are expected to take part in all subjects.

Uphall Primary School is proud to be an inclusive school that strives to support all children to enable them to make the best possible progress. Our team works hard to provide valuable learning experiences through a broad and balanced curriculum. We provide Quality First Teaching with high expectations to make sure that all pupils achieve their full potential.

A wide range of support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities is given at Uphall to meet individual needs. We feel that it is important to establish an effective partnership with parents and carers from the moment a pupil enters our school. In the initial meeting, questions are asked about medical conditions and special educational needs, which informs us of what provision and procedures are needed to fully support each child.

To ensure all additional needs are identified early, we offer a wide range of provisions to suit each individual. We work in partnership with outside agencies and a wide range of professionals such as Health, to make sure that children have access to the appropriate provision.
