Christ recognized the value and dignity of each person and His ministry was one of forgiveness. St. Philomena’s Catholic Primary School embodies this spirit and these values in educating the whole person, that is in the areas of spiritual, cultural, moral, mental, social, and physical developments and in reaching out to the parish community and wider society.

We aim to do this in partnership with parents and the parish of Our Lady of the Crays by:-

• Caring about the children entrusted to us for their education and nurturing their growth and development to help them achieve their true potential
• Encouraging mutual respect between children, teachers, staff, parents, and everyone else involved in our school
• Encouraging the children to develop their understanding of and relationship with God. We belong to a Catholic parish and place great importance on our Catholic heritage and faith, but we also respect the fact that others choose to express their faith in different ways
• Encouraging each child to do their best in academic, artistic, musical, sporting, and other activities, and supporting those who need special help to learn
• Providing an inclusive community of children and adults, where all are welcomed and where we celebrate the diversity which people of different cultures bring to the school
• Ensuring that each child knows they are valued so that they grow in self-confidence and approach their time at school as a time of exploration, without fear of being judged.
• There is a shared vision amongst staff and governors that the school will be outstanding in the next few years.

Breakfast club allows your child to have a good breakfast in a safe comfortable environment that they already know before school starts.

Children attending breakfast clubs learn to mix and socialize with other children in school which helps to promote their confidence. Staff at the breakfast club are DBS checked and trained in Child Protection and first aid.

We aim to provide a fun, safe environment where your children can play, relax and socialize after school. During the school term, running directly after school until 5.45 pm, the club takes the stress out of school collection for parents.

Our staff is very experienced in childcare. They are qualified, DBS checked, and have first aid training. Children are served drinks and a light tea. Our after-school club provides a safe and secure environment for your child and provides an informal setting allowing your child to be creative and to explore through play.
