We are delighted, on behalf of all our Governing Bodies and staff to welcome you to St Peter’s R.C. Primary School. Our prospectus is intended to be a source of information, guidance, support, and assistance to enable you, your child, and your family to have a complete and personal educational experience with us. If your child is about to join us for the first time, we welcome you warmly as parents and look forward to a happy and successful relationship over the coming years. If you already have a child at our school, we hope this prospectus will contribute positively to you and your child’s journey as lifelong learners with us.
The ethos and foundation of our Catholic School are embodied in the curriculum we offer to the children that we care for. We, in partnership with our parents and other stakeholders, encourage and enhance the spiritual, moral, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of each child. We strive to provide a safe, secure, stimulating environment in which our children are happy and develop at a pace that matches their potential.
We have a committed and dedicated staff who care for, encourage, guide, support, and challenge, each child each day. We strive to offer each child opportunities for achievement and educational attainment that are of the highest standard. We have developed an environment where children are allowed the power of self-expression within clearly accepted boundaries. Ultimately we seek to be a community that complements the influences and example of home and the parish in attempting to live out the values of the Gospel. As a Catholic School, we believe that every child is unique and has God-given gifts, talents, skills, and potential. We all work hard to move towards the vision we have for our school through our mission statement.
We would be pleased to have the opportunity to show prospective parents around our school when the atmosphere and ethos can be seen first hand. We welcome this as an opportunity to explain our aims, objectives and to be able to answer any questions you may have. Please contact the School Business Manager in the first instance. A mutually convenient time will then be arranged for an individual or family visit to the school in the company of one of our staff who will be able to expand upon our educational philosophy and practice, answer questions, and clarify any issues
We recognize each child has one chance with their education. At St Peter’s we want to work in partnership with you to realize your child’s full potential. We believe that together we hold the keys to unlock the doors to your child’s future. We aim to make an impression and exert an influence upon your child that stay with them for the rest of their lives.
An example of this is that this website has been developed, maintained, and funded by a former pupil of St. Peter’s who is now a director of his own company and has a family of his own. When I asked him why he wanted to support us in this way he said: “When I came to the school everything was different from what we had experienced to that point. The school and all the people who were part of it helped and encouraged me to work hard and do my best. It is a way of saying Thank You.”
