The St Mark's School community is founded on the Christian values of love, justice and peace expressed in the gospels. These values underpin everything that we do within the School. We view each person as special and unique. We recognize and respond to their gifts, their needs, and their aspirations. We seek to show love and care for all individuals, celebrating achievement and providing support when difficulties are experienced.
We recognize the crucial role which parents have to play in the education of their children. The continuing success of St Mark's School is based on this positive partnership between parents and School. The active involvement of parents in the life of the School brings a unique warmth and vitality to St Mark's.
St Mark's enjoys an outstanding reputation for academic achievement based on a consistent record of excellent examination results. This Summer's A-Level results were outstanding with A*-A grades 41% and A*-B grades 75%, the best results in Hounslow Local Authority. Twenty-two students achieved all A*/A grades including two students who gained three A* grades. Over 100 students are moving on to universities including Oxford and Cambridge and studying competitive courses such as Medicine.
Our highly professional staff are dedicated to ensuring that every pupil fulfills their full potential. Pupils of all abilities are provided with appropriate work which challenges and extends them. We are committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning throughout the curriculum.
Pupils require an orderly environment to focus on their studies effectively. We insist on the highest standards of behavior and self-discipline. We expect all pupils to work hard, to show respect and courtesy for others and to take a pride in their appearance.
The School continues to offer a broad and balanced curriculum designed to meet the opportunities and challenges of adult life in the 21st century. Our thriving Sixth Form greatly enhances the character of the School. The high staying on the rate is a testament to the very positive pupil-teacher relationships which are established at St Mark's. Our Sixth Form students enjoy a challenging and enriching curriculum which enables the great majority to go on to further study, including Oxbridge.
St. Mark's is concerned with the education of the whole person and for this reason, religious education is at the heart of the school, making explicit what is implicit in all areas of the curriculum. We believe that the outcome of religious education should be religiously literate young people who think spiritually, ethically, and theologically and who are aware of the demands of religious commitment in everyday life.
The existence of a chapel in the main school building shows the commitment St Mark's has to ensure that all pupils will have the opportunity to grow in their faith. Assemblies are an integral part of school life where the community joins together to pray and celebrate publicly the individual achievements of the pupils.
