At St Bride's we wish to enter into a partnership with you to provide for pupils a happy, safe and secure educational environment. Your child will cope best when he/she knows that we are all working together, presenting the same standards and expectations for his/her education and future. We are always pleased to welcome parents and to encourage your involvement in the school.
All staff, ancillary and teaching, are fully committed to their pastoral role in ensuring that every child feels happy, valued, and successful within the school. We at St Bride's endeavor to develop in our children not only the love of their faith and learning but also a desire to reach beyond the confines of the school, to take their place in the community and the world at large.
Pupils explain how they apply the Design Principles in their learning. In our class, we have been learning about the design principles of The Curriculum for Excellence. We understand that 9 principles make up the curriculum in Scottish schools. These are challenges, enjoyment, personalization, relevance, choice, depth, breadth, progression, and coherence. The Curriculum for Excellence has been designed to give us the best start in life. Here in St Bride’s we have a very positive attitude to these principles and are delighted to share our ideas with you. St Bride's is a very busy school with children from many different cultures. We enjoy learning, working, and playing together.
The security of a school’s premises is an important part of ensuring the personal safety of pupils, staff, and visitors. It is therefore highly relevant to a school's overall health and safety policy. We provide an adult presence (janitor/Pupil Support Assistants) in the playground from 8.45 am and advise that you do not send your child to school before this time unless he/she attends the Friendship Club. Children will line up as directed by their class teacher at the beginning of the school year – this will depend on the side of the building where the class is allocated.
