Frostburg State University is a comprehensive, student-centered institution dedicated to providing a quality education that leads to real-world success. FSU works towards regional and statewide economic and workforce development. We draw students from all counties in Maryland, as well as other states and foreign countries. Our programs promote cultural enrichment, civic responsibility, and sustainability in the Frostburg community, the Western Maryland region, and beyond.
FSU is an institution of the University System of Maryland, accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It is the only four-year institution of USM west of the Baltimore-Washington corridor.

With 47 undergraduate majors and over 80 specialized programs of study, 16 graduate degree programs, and a doctorate in education, Frostburg State University offers a world of learning and invaluable experiential education. You will take what you learn in every class and put it to work with internships, hands-on opportunities, volunteer work, study abroad, and more to build your resume for a stable career start or to advance or change careers. Count on our highly qualified professors to provide undivided attention with a student-to-faculty ratio of 17:1 in undergrad classes. Most classes have fewer than 20 students.
