EduCativPosted April 27, 2021SharePosted April 27, 2021 Our school is situated in the district of Handsworth, Birmingham. St. Augustine's is a one-form entry school within the Parish of Saint Augustine, catering to children in the 3 to 11 year age range. Children are grouped in each of the eight classes from Nursery to Year 6 according to age. Teaching is on a class basis. We have several initiatives that involve targeting small groups of pupils for Literacy and Numeracy plus art activities where pupils work with a range of providers. At St. Augustine's, we believe that each child is made in the image and likeness of God. All members of our community work together to develop and celebrate the uniqueness of each child. All pupils are encouraged 'to be the best you can be.' St. Augustine's is a busy, friendly school where pupils have many opportunities to achieve their best in a happy, safe and positive environment. We value parents' involvement in the life of the school. Only with their support can we work in the best interests of all the children. Throughout the year, there will be many activities and events to which parents, friends, and other family members will be invited, including assemblies, concerts, open evenings, PTA events and sports' days, an active community facility, and clubs for pupils and parents to enhance life long learning for all. At St. Augustine's we aim: With Christ at the center, endeavor to respect the uniqueness of all those who are involved in the school community. To create a happy, organized, and stimulating working environment, enabling all children to realize their potential for learning and their capacity for enjoyment. To encourage co-operation with each other, to be sensitive to the needs of others and to develop an awareness and an appreciation of other races, religions, and ways of life. To encourage parents to take a supportive role in their children's education and the daily life of the school. Our Values: At St Augustine’s, we value how all children are unique and made in the image and likeness of God. Our curriculum promotes respect for the views of each child, as well as for people of all cultures and faiths. We value the spiritual, moral, and physical development of each person, as well as each one’s intellectual and physical growth. We value the importance of each person in our community. Our curriculum is organized so that we promote cooperation and understanding between all members of our community. We value the rights enjoyed by each person in our society. We respect each child in our school for who they are and we treat them with fairness and honesty. We aim to enable each person to be successful by providing equal opportunities for all the children in our school. We value our environment and we aim, through our curriculum, to teach respect for our world. Such respect guides us to caring for the environment and preserving it for future generations as well as for ourselves. We value the importance of each child using their God-given talents to reach their full potential. Inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus and believing that every child is made in the image and likeness of God, St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School is a family where everyone is welcomed where everyone is loved, respected, and cared for where everyone is helped and encouraged to achieve their very best. At St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School Christ is at the center of all that we do. We believe in an active working partnership between home, school, and parish and we will provide you with regular information, both formally and informally, about all aspects of school life and your child’s progress at St Augustine’s. We aim to provide the very best that we can for your child and we ask you to support our parish priest, governors, and staff in this special task. We are very proud of the success of our children and want each one of them to excel within our very caring community.View full schoolQuoteLink to commentShare on other sitesMore sharing options...
