Pocklington School was founded in 1514 by lawyer and clergyman John Dolman, a visionary who understood the value of education. Set on a 50-acre campus on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, Pocklington School provides a perfect backdrop for a range of events. From residential courses to intimate family gatherings, conferences, musical performances, workshops, receptions, and celebrations, we have a selection of venues to help you create a successful event.

With comfortable accommodation, a theatre, a music school, a heated indoor swimming pool, a cricket pavilion, extensive sports facilities, a large meeting room plus smaller satellite rooms all on one campus, our facilities are flexible and unique. Within walking distance of the attractive market town of Pocklington and just 12 miles from the City of York, we are easily accessible from all major road, rail, and bus networks and have large, free car parks on-site and adjacent to our campus.

• 21 acres of grass rugby, hockey, cricket, and football pitches
• Two full sizes, sand dressed synthetic pitches providing two full-size hockey pitches or 18 x tennis courts

In addition to specialist teaching facilities for music, science, English, and other academic subjects, and four boarding houses, our 50-acre campus includes the 300 seat Tom Stoppard Theatre as well as 21 acres of grass rugby, cricket, and hockey pitches.

There are also two full-sized synthetic pitches, one of them floodlit, which can be used for hockey and netball in the winter and the summer are transformed into 18 tennis courts. We also have an indoor swimming pool and an indoor sports hall.

The town of Pocklington is in the north of England in the East Riding of Yorkshire, 12 miles east of the historic city of York and 20 miles from the city of Hull. It is about four hours from London Heathrow Airport by car or train or two hours from Manchester Airport. It is also possible to fly from Heathrow direct to Leeds Bradford Airport which is just over an hour’s drive away.
