Together we achieve. Gyda'n gilydd, rydym yn cyflawni' We are a primary school for 3-11-year-old children in the center of Maesteg. The happiness and wellbeing of each child are central to the ethos of our school. Children are encouraged to work together respectfully, valuing opinions and treating each other as equals. We encourage teamwork as well as independence in a safe and caring environment.
Throughout the school we want our children to enjoy a wide range of experiences that bring the curriculum to life. We aim to equip our pupils with the skills they need to grow up in an ever-changing world and to develop learning attitudes that will stay with them for life.
The Educational resources on this site have been created to help the children in our school develop their knowledge, understanding, and thinking skills in all areas.
All of the Zones are educational and while in school the children access these safely with no adverts or pop-ups appearing on the screens due to our specific security filter system. However, adverts pop-ups or links to further sites may occur at home when using some areas. Plasnewydd Primary School is not responsible for this and we strongly recommend that parental supervision is used when children are using the Internet. We hope that all of the children enjoy this zone and have rewarding experiences from it.
After experiencing all four seasons in a couple of hours down at the lake we arrived back at Hillcrest for lunch, then an afternoon at the Challenge Course and a spot of shooting. Our day concluded with some singing, dancing, story-telling and of course, an evening around the campfire wouldn't be complete without some delicious toasted marshmallows!! We were even entertained by the stars in the sky with a truly spectacular shooting star!
