Parkfield Community School is a proud, founding member of the Excelsior Academy chain and is a very popular, large three-form entry primary school (with one year group having a fourth form) and a nursery. We are an inclusive, happy, and innovative primary school located in the heart of Saltley in Birmingham.

On-site, we are fortunate to have our very own Maths Academy, English Academy, a very well-resourced library, a computer suite, two large halls, a CPD center, a large outdoor playground, an allotment, our sports arena and we are one of the first primary schools in the country to have a dedicated Young Engineers’ Academy.

At Parkfield, equality is very important to us and we feel that every child should feel safe, happy, and confident, achieving success within a vibrant and stimulating community. We explore and celebrate differences and diversity through our 'No Outsiders' approach. This ensures that everybody feels welcome and valued in line with the 2010 Equality Act, whatever their race, gender identity, age, disability, sexual orientation, and gender. This is further supported through Parkfield being a Unicef Rights Respecting Level 2 School (the first in Birmingham). We use the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to give us a framework to ensure all pupils receive a good education, are safe, confident, and happy in our care, and have a strong moral compass.

We offer a wide range of activities in lesson time, as well as a focus on the basics of reading, writing, and maths. At playtimes and dinnertimes, our playground is a hive of activity, with events and games such as cricket, football, basketball, dancing, skipping, tricycle riding, team building activities, and Connect Four. Many of these are led by adults to ensure our pupils are happy and develop healthy attitudes to sports and games to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

At Parkfield Community School, our children come first and our priority is to deliver outstanding teaching and learning whilst at the same time providing rich and truly enjoyable learning experiences for our community of children. Everything we do as a school is to ensure that the children achieve their very best, make outstanding behavioral choices, and show tolerance, respect, and an understanding towards others, no matter their race, religion, gender orientation, age, disabilities, gender, or sexual orientation. We are deeply aware that children only get one chance at their primary education and it is our job to ensure that they all reach for the highest levels of personal achievement and development.

We want every child to be successful to reach for success from the very first day they join us and throughout their school lives so that when they leave us, they have a love of learning for the rest of their lives. At Parkfield Community School we will strive to:
