Welcome to our school. As a Catholic Community centered on God’s love, respecting all, we are committed to enable and encourage each person to develop and achieve their full potential in a caring and secure environment.
Our vision is to provide a school community in which everyone is a successful learner and successful leader. As a whole school, we promote positive relationships within a caring, inclusive, learning community. We will focus on developing successful learners and leaders who make effective contributions and responsible pupils. Promote learning experiences that are imaginative, stimulating, and challenging. Pace and challenge for learners will ensure sufficient focus on challenging and successful learning for all. Accurate assessment will underpin all planned experiences for learners enabling all learners to apply their learning in active and creative ways.
Pupils will have the opportunities to make their opinions known and their views are taken into account when decisions are made. Parents will be well informed about their child’s learning and will be included at all times. All staff will have a good understanding of the needs of pupils of meeting the needs and in reviewing progress. We will reinforce community links and develop children’s awareness of the wider world engaging with all agencies. All will be achieved through an ethos based on the Gospel values and our Mission Statement.
All children will have regular Forest School sessions. These sessions will take place on-site in our small quad. During Forest School sessions the children will have the opportunity to investigate and explore nature and the natural environment.
Each session has a clear, structured, planned routine with most activities being child-led with adult support if needed, and takes place in all types of weather.
The children attending Forest School will be allowed to climb trees, build with natural materials, use real tools and cook on an open fire.
We believe that Forest School sessions are a natural and effective complement to classroom-based learning. Our school will be working towards an exciting maths award called ‘Liverpool Counts Quality Mark’.
The award aims to promote a positive attitude towards maths and show how important maths is in school and at home. We will also be looking at how maths is relevant in everyday life, in the home, and at work.
There are many ways you can help at home. Involve your child in activities such as shopping, paying bills, cooking and baking, decorating, and any other activities that will help to develop their maths skills and show them how much maths are used in everyday life. The possibilities are endless.
We strive to lay a good foundation for the children's future, by providing a secure and stimulating environment that encourages the childs' curiosity and interest to develop. Playing together, children learn to co-operate and to care for each other, whilst developing confidence in themselves and their abilities through the many activities both indoors and outdoors.
