Osidge School is a happy and inclusive two-form entry primary school with a nursery, situated in Southgate, North London. We aim to provide all our children with a rich learning experience so that they develop into confident, motivated, and independent learners. We want our pupils to have a love of learning and develop skills for life. We want our learning environment to be stimulating and one which enables our children to be active learners, who are creative and critical thinkers. We encourage our children to reach their potential through our creative curriculum, and through creative arts, music, and sports.
We believe that all children learn best if they are happy and confident and we support them to do this through our values of respect, determination, honesty, responsibility, care, and appreciation.
At Osidge, the quality of teaching and learning for all pupils is regularly and carefully reviewed, including those children at risk of underachievement. This includes reviewing and, where necessary, improving teachers’ understanding of strategies to identify and support vulnerable pupils and their knowledge of the SEND most frequently encountered.
At Osidge School, we believe that all children have an equal right to a full and rounded education which will enable them to achieve their full potential. We welcome all children into our school community. We use our best endeavors to secure special educational provision for pupils for whom this is required, that is ‘additional to and different from that provided within the differentiated curriculum to better respond to the four areas of need as identified in the new Code of Practice. We recognize that we will need to consider the individual needs of all children when planning our curriculum.
At Osidge School we follow the national curriculum. Because we know that children learn best when subjects are delivered in a relevant and meaningful context, we teach the national curriculum creatively through topics. We want our children to achieve their full potential, growing intellectually, spiritually, physically, and socially. We provide our children with a creative and stimulating curriculum through which they will develop skills and enable them to become successful and prosperous individuals in our society.
