At Mottingham Primary School the children and their learning are at the very heart of every decision made. We aim to develop learners who are passionate about learning, take ownership of their learning, and are proud of their achievements.
Our dedicated staff believes that no child should be left behind. Our motto ‘Learning and Achieving Together’ reflects the importance of good teamwork. Positive partnerships with individual children, whole classes, our parents as co-educators, our colleagues, our governors, and the wider community lead to effective teaching, high standards, and successful learning.
We believe that learning should be fun, purposeful, and challenging. Through our child-centered curriculum, we aim for each child to develop the skills and confidence needed for lifelong learning. We value every child, meeting their individual needs in a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment where differences are celebrated.
Education for the 21st Century was established in 2011 as a Multi-Academy Trust. All the Directors have a clear and long-lasting commitment to the education of young people and they are skilled in operating effectively to the benefit of the Trust’s schools, their students, their staff, their parents, and the wider local education community within South East London.
At the heart of the Trust’s philosophy is the importance of the ‘whole child’ rather than just their academic achievement: results are very important but the Trust also focuses on the soft skills which will help each student set up for their life beyond school.
We also believe that collaboration, partnership, professional growth through professional collaboration are best served when the participants are geographically close and taken from a wide variety of situations. For this reason, we aim to work within the Borough of Bromley at both Primary and Secondary levels not only to maintain Bromley’s reputation but to enhance the area even further.
Children in Reception, Years 1 & 2, receive Universal Free School Meals which means you do not have to pay for their school dinner. However, we would strongly encourage all eligible parents, regardless of which year group their child is in, to apply for Free School Meals as the school receives extra funding which can improve your child’s learning.
Our After School Club runs from 3 pm until 6 pm every term-time day. Children are offered a vast range of activities to enjoy and extend their learning experiences, including cookery, arts and crafts, ICT, sports, games, and role-play.
Children enjoy a substantial snack which they often help to prepare. The planning of activities and snacks is led by the children to very much reflect their interests and tastes.
