We take pride in our open, welcoming, and caring atmosphere where ‘Together Everyone Achieves More. Ysgol Llandrillo is a mixed County Primary school in the beautiful North Wales coastal resort of Rhos-on-Sea. It was officially opened in September 1994 when the previous Infant and Junior Schools of Llandrillo-Yn-Rhos amalgamated.
We aim to be an excellent place of learning at the center of the community, promoting high expectations and a love of learning by offering a wide range of opportunities that develop pupil’s physical, emotional and social skills whilst equipping them with the knowledge, understanding, and talents for life and leisure. Our curriculum policies set expectations for learning and attainment, promote continuity and progression and provide a common basis for understanding among children, staff, parents, and governors.
Our curriculum is responsive to the needs of our children and changes in society and through constant monitoring, we ensure that it is broad, balanced, relevant, inclusive, and well planned. We engage our children's learning through a curriculum that develops, stretches, and excites their imaginations.
In our school, you will see children learning outdoors, through play, in small groups, through sport, music, drama, art, and computers from their teachers and other adults before school and after school. This diversity of experience allows every child to enjoy success and sets the foundations for life-long learning. At the very heart of our curriculum are the core skills of literacy and numeracy.
Choosing the right school for your child is vitally important, possibly the most important decision you have yet made as a parent. Most of us want a good education for our children but we also want them to be happy and to feel valued and safe. At Ysgol Llandrillo, we believe that we can offer our pupils the experiences which will provide these things, a good quality learning experience, and a happy, safe environment.
We pride ourselves in the broad, balanced, and full education program we provide at all stages, Foundation Phase (Nursery, Reception, Years 1 & 2), and Key Stage 2 (Years 3 – 6). The high standards of teaching and learning at Ysgol Llandrillo are a credit to the hard work of both staff and pupils. We are equally proud of the ethos and atmosphere which pervade every aspect of school friendliness, respect and co-operation are of great importance to us all.
