Welcome to our school. We live and celebrate our Christian life together with the development of each person's full potential in a climate of joy, freedom, respect, challenge, cooperation, and celebration. Our community enriches our lives - children, staff, parents work collaboratively together towards achieving the best possible learning environment for all. Enrichment is intellectual, physical, spiritual, moral, social, and emotional. We promote a spirit of charity, social justice, global awareness, and concern for others. We work for a culture of tolerance where individuals of diverse identities are recognized, welcomed, respected, and cherished. We strive for our children to receive fair and just treatment and equal opportunities, rejecting prejudice in all forms and respecting the rights of others. We demonstrate listening, mutual understanding, trust, reconciliation, healing, and peace.

Our children live and work in preparation to lead fulfilling and purposeful life which will contribute to the common good.

Our Christian Ethos: This is reflected in our life together - our working, our teaching, and our learning. We are all God's children and through our daily teaching and learning, we discover our gifts. We know that we are loved and listened to by God and one another. We help each other and encourage each other to feel secure, safe, positive, and to look forward to coming to school and learning.

The Government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, and these values have been reiterated this year (2014). At Kirkdale, St. Lawrence CE Primary School these values are reinforced regularly and in the following ways:

• Tolerance of Different Faiths and Beliefs

Kirkdale St Lawrence places a great emphasis on promoting diversity with the children. Assemblies are regularly planned to address this issue either directly or through the inclusion of stories and celebrations from a variety of faiths and cultures. Our RE and PSHE teaching reinforce this. Members of different faiths or religions are encouraged to share their knowledge to enhance learning within classes and the school. Children visit places of worship that are important to different faiths. Through this, our children gain an enhanced understanding of their place in a culturally diverse society.

We are very excited to be one of a group of schools being assessed in March for the Liverpool Counts Quality Mark. At Kirkdale St Lawrence we want all of our pupils to feel confident about their work in Maths and to learn how to use their Maths skills in everyday life. The quality mark is helping us to explore how we can do this even better.

At Kirkdale St Lawrence we are committed to providing a broad and balanced curriculum. We have high expectations of all our pupils and aim to accommodate the needs of every learner. We embrace the fact that every child is different and therefore the education needs of every child will vary.
