A new independent school for boys and girls aged 11-18 in the heart of London.

KPS is a fantastic addition to the central London independent school scene – a new 11 to 18 co-educational school with boarding we firmly believe we offer something different and exciting to discerning young learners and their parents. While our Sixth Form, located opposite the Natural History Museum in South Kensington, opened in September 2017, the Lower School (ages 11-16), which is just around the corner from both Queensway and Bayswater tube stops, opened its doors to pupils in September 2018.

Also, we have quite possibly the best boarding facilities in London and can provide accommodation to pupils from year 10 upwards. It is important to note, however, that we see ourselves very much as a London school for London families. We are a small, friendly school and we want you to be part of our extended family.

While many of our teachers have taught at some of the oldest and most traditional schools in the country – St Paul’s School, St Paul’s Girls’ School, Dulwich College, City of London School for Girls, Winchester College to name but a few - our outlook on education is modern and dynamic. We have put together a 21st-century curriculum to meet the needs of our students as they grow and develop, and as they prepare themselves for the fast-paced and ever-changing world around us. While we offer a traditional range of subjects leading to GCSEs and A-levels, we also offer Mandarin from year 7, and computer science which we have positioned as fourth science alongside chemistry, biology, and physics. Just as important as the taught curriculum, however, are the holistic lessons our students learn from working collaboratively across subject areas to achieve shared goals. In the Creative Hub, which centers on our recently refurbished theatre, you will find students in the art studio designing and making costumes using our sewing machines in the Mezzanine - our tech room - there will be students composing and producing digital music or managing our theatre light and sound system while in the Theatre itself, students will be rehearsing drama and musical productions which they may well have written themselves. All the while you may just find students making props for the play on our laser printer!

Dovetailing nicely with our 21st-century curriculum is our innovative and exciting co-curricular provision. As well as offering high-quality music and drama and a wide range of clubs aimed at sparking enquiring young minds, KPS has entered into partnerships with numerous local sports providers. We can offer our students access to sports ranging from netball, football, swimming, and tennis to rowing, rock climbing, horse riding, and even ice hockey! We offer academic, sporting, and artistic (music, drama, art) scholarships and are looking to recruit students who have the drive and passion to make the very best out of a KPS education.

KPS offers an intellectually exciting environment in which pupils can learn and grow, but also have fun. While our staff is rigorous in their approach to teaching and learning, they are thoroughly modern in their outlook and practice. We are an academic school, but we are not a slave to grades, and my benchmark of success is whether a pupil has fulfilled his or her potential. Through excellent teaching in small classes – science is taught in laboratories in class sizes of no more than 12 - a dynamic and innovative learning environment, and a pastoral system that values close collaboration and frequent communication with parents, all of our students are well equipped for the challenges of the 21st century.
