At John Paul Academy we have a core objective, that is, to make a unique difference to every individual within our community so that they reach their highest potential. It is in working towards this end that we create an ethos of achievement that is conducive to high-quality learning.

You will see that there are many clubs and extra-curricular activities for our learners to be involved in where they can develop relationships with both members of staff and their peers. It is through these quality relationships that we believe real learning, that will benefit young people for the rest of their lives, will take place. Our partnerships with parents are critical as parents and carers are the primary educators and that is exactly why we would encourage you to contact us directly if you have any concerns or questions relating to the development of young people.

Our school is located on the outskirts of Summerston in North Glasgow. Special features of the school include a multipurpose hall, theatre, and social area, an upgraded PE facility, including a new fitness suite, changing rooms, an all-weather pitch, a modern Home Economics department, and a suite of ICT rooms, including a library with full ICT facilities, and high-quality ICT equipment across the school.

This Core Professional Purpose was arrived at after extensive consultation with pupils, parents, and staff. It is the first stage of SYCOL training in which all staff, parents, and senior pupils were involved.

The school has a lift for use by pupils, staff, and visitors with mobility difficulties. The new PE facility is managed in the evenings and weekends by Culture and Sport Glasgow and is accessed from a dedicated entrance and reception area at the side of the school. Other facilities in the school are also available for community letting, which is managed by Glasgow City Council Letting Department.
