At Holy Trinity CE Primary school we value each child as a unique individual. We work hard to get to know our children so that we can provide the best opportunities for them to love learning and make exceptional progress. In July 2015 Ofsted recognized Holy Trinity as an 'outstanding school'. Inspectors stated that "Achievement is outstanding because pupils make exceptional progress throughout the school", and "Pupils' behavior is impeccable. Their extremely positive attitudes to learning have a strong impact on the progress they make."
Applications for admission should be made on the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames’ (hereafter referred to as the ‘local authority) common application form (CAF) online or by hard copy. This form is obtainable from the local authority. A copy of the school’s Admissions Policy is available online or by request. Places will be offered on the offer date (known as National Offer Day) for all maintained schools in the borough. It is the parents’ responsibility to inform the local authority of any change in circumstances since the completion and submission of the application form if the changes have occurred before the offer day in the event of changes in circumstances occurring after the offer date, then it is the parents’ responsibility to inform the headteacher.
Holy Trinity CE Primary School (hereafter referred to as ‘the school’) is part of the locally agreed coordination scheme and the timescales for applications to be received and processed are those prescribed each year by the local authority. Parents must complete the local authority’s common application form (CAF) and return the form to the local authority if applying for a place at this school, parents must name this school as one of the preferences on the CAF.
Parents who wish to apply for a Foundation place must also complete this school’s supplementary form (attached: Appendix Form for Ministers) and return this to the school office by the local authority’s prescribed submission of applications date. Failure to return the completed supplementary form will mean that the school will not consider the application for a Foundation place under priority category 2, but will treat the application as being for a non-Foundation place and determine the application according to the relevant priority category in which the applicant falls.
At Holy Trinity keeping children safe and ensuring that every child reaches their potential underpins everything we do. We take our responsibility for the children in our care very seriously and are here to help, support, and guide as best we can. All details are treated confidentially and will only be shared if there are concerns that a child is at risk. It is always our aim to share our concerns transparently with the child’s parent or guardian before making a referral however, we follow the advice given from the Single Point of Access (SPA) and reserve our right to refer without consent if we are sufficiently concerned about a child’s safety or we are unable to contact the parent/guardian after reasonable attempts have been made.
We do our best to communicate fully with parents and the school community. It is also very important for us to have your feedback. We hold annual surveys of staff, parents and pupils, and often hold focus groups on specific issues. We have a very active school council to make sure the children give us their feedback too. Face-to-face contact is managed formally via teacher/parent consultations to discuss your child’s progress in detail. Teachers are also available to talk to you in the playground or by appointment. Holy Trinity is a large two-form entry primary school. Year 6 has one class. The school has a nursery and enhanced provision for children with behavioral and emotional difficulties. Over half the children are White British with the rest coming from a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds. Approximately a fifth of all learners speaks English as an additional language. Free school meals eligibility is below average. The percentage of children with learning difficulties or disabilities is average. Almost half of the children are from Christian families. The remainder is of other faiths or no declared faith.
There are fourteen governors and the make-up of the board is as follows: eight Foundation governors, one local authority governor, two parent governors, one co-opted governor, one staff governor, and the headteacher.
