At Hobbayne Primary School and Nursery we offer a safe, healthy and stimulating environment where children's self-esteem, happiness, and enjoyment of school are valued equally alongside our commitment to educating the whole child.
We have a forward-thinking team of staff, an active PTA, and a supportive Governing Body. We work to ensure that children benefit from a wide range of opportunities to excel across the curriculum and beyond it. You are also very welcome to visit us and experience our warm, inclusive, multi-cultural atmosphere for yourself.
All pupils at school have access to our e-school, which is provided by a company called Fronter. Pupils have access to various rooms, just as they do in a school building. All content is protected by a login and password. Children can communicate with each other and staff, can respond to forums and discussions, consolidate, develop and extend their learning, and hand in homework. All pupils from Nursery to Year 6 have rooms they can access with resources to support learning.
We have a policy on trips to guide teachers and parents on issues and practices of Health and Safety on trips and visits. These are available for all to read in the Policy Document folder, which is kept in the school office. From time to time parents volunteer to transport children in the Junior Department to sporting venues and events in their vehicles. Parents transporting children are asked to complete a short questionnaire about their vehicle and associated documents. These questionnaires are updated annually.
There is a two-night, three-day residential in Year 5 to Sayers Croft in Guildford, Surrey. In March/April, Year 6 visit the PGL center near Paris, in France for five days and four nights. Parents can help on trips. Please contact the school office if you'd like to and put your name down on the volunteer list. We send out a standard trip letter that contains lots of information. We recognize the importance of keeping our trips and costs transparent to our community.
