Our aim is the development of each child’s abilities and the realization of their full potential. We seek to provide an attractive safe and caring environment where children want to learn and take pride in their work. We encourage them to be self-confident, self-reliant, and self-disciplined helping them develop socially, to have a sense of moral awareness, and to have regard for other people’s feelings whatever their color, race, or creed.

We know that our children are learning and making very good progress when they display certain dispositions and behaviors such as curiosity, motivation, confidence, enjoyment, independence, and involvement. All staff members are committed to delivering high-quality teaching in a rich and varied environment that supports the children’s learning. The Governing Body is made up of Governors who are committed to the school’s aims to encourage and develop the whole child intellectually, physically, emotionally, morally and spiritually, to achieve his or her full potential within a forward-looking, stimulating, and secure environment. We aim to work in close partnership with our school leaders, staff, pupils, and parents to enable children to achieve success and to prepare them for the opportunities and experiences of adult life within a culturally diverse, ever-changing, society. The Governing Body is made of members from different groups – parents, staff, our local community, and the Local Authority. Individual governors bring their own experiences and expertise to the governing body and we aim to use their skills to the benefit of the school.

Bullying is a term used more frequently these days. Bullying is not always easy to define, but as it is harmful to everyone involved we believe that bullying is made up of actions that:-

• Are repetitive, wilful, or persistent
• Are intentionally harmful, carried out by a group or by individuals
• Create an imbalance of power that leaves a victim feeling defenseless

Children sometimes bully others if they do not know that what they are doing is wrong if they are copying others if they haven’t learned better ways to mix with children, if their friends encourage them to or if they are going through a difficult time and they are acting out aggressive feelings. To help you can:

• Explain to your child that what they are doing is unacceptable and makes others unhappy.
• Show your child how to join in with others without bullying.
• Discourage other members of your family from using aggression or force to get what they want.
• Give your child lots of praise and encouragement when they are cooperative and kind.
