Foresters is a small, friendly well resourced, primary school. We have 12 classes including a nursery and children come to school-aged 3 and stay with us until they are 11. We have a large committed staff with many years of experience.

The school is very lucky to have 4 classes where children with autism are taught and they not only contribute to the caring ethos of the school but bring in resources and expertise that help support children in the classes.

We are committed to ensuring our children achieve high standards in all areas of the curriculum whilst ensuring that the school takes notice of and adheres to all national and local policies and guidance concerning Safeguarding Children and young people.

Our school is a modern single-story building with an Early Years Foundation Stage Unit. We are fortunate to have a dedicated music teacher, library, OT room, sensory room, computer suite, a well-equipped playground including a trim trail, and a wonderful sports pavilion. Disabled toilet facilities are available in the school. Access to the playground and playing field is via steps or a ramp.

We believe in educating the 'whole child and have a wide and diverse curriculum that is not only focused on academic achievement but life skills, sport, and the arts. Much use is made of the extensive school grounds and the children are given a wide variety of experiences both within the school day and through extracurricular activities. These include regular educational visits (much use is made of free transport within London) and clubs/teams such as football, tag rugby, badminton, basketball as well art, cookery, computer, gardening, and music.

We aim to teach our curriculum in an engaging, interesting, and stimulating way, primarily through a thematic approach. We use the Cornerstones Curriculum. The Cornerstones Curriculum is a creative approach to learning. It ensures that your children learn most creatively and become involved in what they are learning. Cornerstones is based on the Four Cornerstones of Learning: Engage, Develop, Innovate, and Express. These Cornerstones provide a consistent philosophy for learning throughout the school.

At Foresters, we ensure that we provide all children with a happy, caring, and safe environment in which they can learn. By providing security and continuity we hope to develop self-esteem, self-discipline and encourage children to become independent learners. We aim to promote an environment where children feel safe and secure and where they show respect for themselves, their families and peers, their surroundings, and all adults. Children model what they see and we believe all adults should lead by example. We encourage adults on the school premises to display positive, polite, and considerate behavior towards others at all times.
