Devonshire House Preparatory School is situated in the heart of Hampstead. The School has fine Victorian premises with charming grounds and walled gardens.

The Early Years starts in the Oak Tree Nursery (ages 2 ½ – 3 ½ ) and is based at 6 Arkwright Road. The Nursery team works together following the Key Person system.

The Pre-Reception and Reception (ages 3-5) are taught at 4 Arkwright Road. Every class has a teacher and an assistant. All the children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, with PE, French, and Music being taught by specialist teachers.

Junior School pupils, age 5 – 8, (Years 1 to 3), are taught just around the corner at 69 Fitzjohn’s Avenue. Here they make tremendous progress, following a full curriculum, with specialist teachers for Games, ICT, Music, and French.

The Upper School pupils, age 8 -13, (Years 4 – 8), are taught in other buildings on the Arkwright Road school site. They have a full range of specialist subject teachers, including Art, Design Technology, Science and Latin. In this environment, they develop the necessary knowledge and skills to pass into a large range of London Day Schools and Boarding Schools.

Devonshire House School provides an excellent education for pupils from Nursery age through to Common Entrance for senior schools. It is a safe, warm, and happy place providing interest, challenge, encouragement, and understanding at every stage. The school pursues high academic standards whilst developing enthusiasm, initiative, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
