At Copthall, we aim to develop a love of learning and creativity which will ensure our students develop, grow and flourish into young women who will leave at the end of Year 13 to make their mark in an ever-changing world. We are “committed to excellence in everything we do” which means that we provide a breadth of experiences that will ensure our students become even more knowledgeable and enterprising and can develop personal qualities to become respectful, caring, and responsible citizens. Our students are highly inspirational, a culture which is developed and encouraged by all staff. Copthall has a dedicated staff who ensure all students feel safe, valued, and accepted and are allowed to succeed whatever their starting points.

At Copthall School, it is our mission to provide excellence in education for all. The school continues to grow in its journey of victory with the 2017 exam results proving girls succeed at Copthall School. This year 84% of our A-Level students achieved A*-C grades, taking the school’s performance above the national average by nearly 7%. Our GCSE results this year were equally impressive as students received 80% A* - C or 9 – 4 grades, which overshadows the National Average by 12%. Besides, 30% of Copthall's students were awarded A*- A or 9-7 grades which puts them 10% above the National Average and 8% above the All-Girl School National Average.

Beyond academic success, our students take part in an unrivaled series of enrichment opportunities, including residential trips, extra-curricular clubs, and visits to the theater and ballet.

With an ethos that celebrates our cultural diversity and rewards participation, we encourage girls to show respect for others and become active members of society. We provide outstanding pastoral care. Although regular contact with local primary schools means that Copthall is familiar to most girls when they arrive, we take special care of our Year 7. All girls and their families have individual meetings during this transition period and Year 10 girls act as buddies to the Year 7 as they settle in. All girls spend time daily with their Form Tutor, who is responsible for their progress and well-being, supported by their Learning Co-coordinator (Head of Year). With a trained school counselor also on hand, girls know that there is always a listening ear. Through regular Curriculum and Personal, Social, and Health Education activities, girls explore a variety of topics – such as finance, careers, and well-being – to empower them to make positive life choices. Also, they support one another through peer mentoring. Our community extends beyond the school grounds with supportive families, an experienced governing body, and an active PTA all contributing to the success of Ophthalmic. Our students are active in the local community – helping with events held in school and at local primaries, especially as Sports Leaders supporting local initiatives, such as Barnett Food Bank, and raising considerable sums for charities at home and abroad.

With a tradition of strength in business and enterprise, we offer students many opportunities to develop the transferable skills that will benefit them at university and in the workplace. Copthall girls, being naturally industrious and ambitious, respond well to the many challenges we set them. Girls are encouraged to develop their leadership potential through roles such as Form Reps on the Year Council, Year Reps on the School Council, Sports Captains, and Lead Learners for various subjects.
