We are very proud of our school which offers a caring environment where children happily explore a rich and diverse curriculum. Our pupils are given opportunities to develop confidence, self-esteem, and a strong sense of social responsibility. We have high expectations and pupils are encouraged to achieve their potential in all areas of the curriculum. We take every opportunity to promote British values, which complement our own Childeric values. Our school motto, devised by the school council, summarises our ethos:

Childeric is a community primary school in the London Borough of Lewisham. We provide education for children aged 3 to 11 years (Nursery, Reception, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2).

Our pupils come from a very wide range of ethnic backgrounds that truly reflect the diversity of our community. Between them, our children speak over 40 different languages. We have a friendly, hard-working team of staff who are committed to raising achievement. The staff, and our governors, support a strong ethos of inclusion of all pupils.

We aim:

The school is extremely well resourced and offers the following:

• A Modern school building (opened in January 2008)
• Spacious playground and football cage with floodlights
• Large, bright, well-furnished classrooms
• Excellent ICT facilities including three computer suites and laptop trolleys
• Strong SEN provision and resources
• Excellent support from teaching assistants and learning mentors
• Excellent support for pupils from overseas and for children with English as an additional language
