Welcome to Camelot Primary School… exceptional every day. Our children’s welcome will be truly exceptional as will be the insight they give you into the quality and standards of education.

Camelot School is an exceptional school in so many other ways including the quality of our teachers and school leaders as well as the exceptional quality of the curriculum offered to our children.

Our vision is that we aim for provision in all areas of our school life that meets the definition of exceptional. Be this in the quality of the daily learning experiences or our interactions with our parents/carers and our community or be it in the quality of our school lunches, music, PE, computing, etc…. our goal is to achieve what one might define as exceptional.

Changes in our physical resources have seen the provision of a new 3G multi-purpose playground, a new indoor hall facility as well as a new library, and all the books that fill a library.

At Camelot, we all work together to nurture and challenge each child through our tailored provision. We have high expectations of learning and behavior and regularly celebrate achievement, collaboration and effort.

By demonstrating our school values, children at Camelot will develop a love of learning, independence, skills, and knowledge to fulfill their potential and become well-balanced, resilient, active members of our community.

At Camelot Primary School, our Nursery and Reception classes follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We believe that children in the Early Years learn best through play and exploration and our provision both inside and outside provides the rich, stimulating learning environment that will facilitate the necessary opportunities to facilitate this approach to learning.

Our aim is that by the time they leave the Reception class all children will have made the outstanding progress that ensures they are ready for the challenge of Key Stage One and beyond. They will develop basic numeracy and literacy skills to complement their personal, social, and emotional skills with each cohort of children from 2018 onwards meeting national outcomes for securing a good level of development in all the prime areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

We expect our children will be able to use their phonic knowledge to read and write, have a solid understanding of numbers, have formed strong friendships, and are confident members of our happy school community. We approach learning with the intention to both develop in our children those characteristics of effective learning that will prepare and support them for their education and varied futures ahead. The resilient, versatile young learner will acquire a thirst for knowledge and will relish every opportunity offered by our school and its rich diversity as well as its outstanding curriculum.

All our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children will be taught English, Maths, Science, Art and Design, Computing, Geography, History, Music, and PE. Key Stage 2 children must also study a foreign language.

We aim to actively promote British values to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races, and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is "right" and "wrong", all people living in England are subject to its law.
