Ysgol Beca aims to establish a lively, nurturing, supportive, and traditionally Welshenvironemnt which encourages each individual to reach their full potential educationally, creatively, physically, and emotionally.

We aim to prepare each child to be a valued member of modern society and will ensure the education of the highest standard through varied experiences to enhance the life choices of all who are members of the school's community.

The school was opened in September 1972. It was built as an area school in the village of Efailwen. The village is in Carmarthenshire and stands approximately a mile and a half from the Cleddau river which is on the border between Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

Ysgol Beca is a primary school with around 60 pupils between the ages of 3 and a half and 11 years old, who come from areas such as Llanglydwen, Hebron, login, Glandy Cross, and Llangollen. Ysgol Beca is a Welsh-medium school where the majority of the curriculum is delivered in the Welsh language. English is introduced at year 3 (7 years old). The everyday language of the school is Welsh.

Aims:

• The main aim of our school is to ensure that every child is happy here and that all pupils fulfill their potential intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially.
• To help the pupils to develop lively, enquiring minds, with the ability to question and debate logically.
• To develop the pupil's interest, knowledge, and skills in Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Information Technology and in the world around them.
• To teach the pupils to work together and to create a tolerance in each child towards others irrespective of background, color, and creed.
• Create awareness and appreciation of environment, language, culture, and locality in the pupil and ensure that Welsh inheritance is introduced to each child.
• To give children an idea about moral values.
• To create in the child an awareness of the need for personal hygiene, politeness, and courtesy and try to instill self-respect for others and develop strong attitudes and values.
• To teach the pupils about the Bible and the Christian beliefs.
• To work closely with the parents and community for the benefit of the child.
• To ensure that all pupils take part in a variety of Physical and Aesthetic Activities to develop individual talents and skills.
