Aberporth Primary School is situated on the Ceredigion coast, in a small community town, approximately 7 miles north of Cardigan and 6 miles south of New Quay. Being only 100 meters up the hill from Aberporth beach, it enjoys breathtaking views of Cardigan Bay.
Currently, approximately 100 pupils are on the register. It is classified as a Category A school providing education to pupils in the local community between the ages of 4-11 years. Welsh is the principal language utilized in the Foundation Stage (4-7-year-olds). In Key Stage 2 (7-11-year-olds) English is integrated. We aim to ensure that pupils are fully bilingual by the end of Year 6 in preparation for Secondary education.
Canolfan y Don is a unit situated on the school campus. It is a designated facility for pupils with profound special educational needs and is unique to Aberporth Primary School.
The school is a close-knit and caring community that ensures a happy and safe environment for all. The dedicated teachers and staff are conscientious working tirelessly to offer a variety of experiences and a vast amount of opportunities to all learners.

A new council is elected annually at the beginning of the school year. There are representatives from each class. There are one male and one female representative from each class. Classes propose their nominees and a secret ballot is then held to vote their class representatives. The elected councilors then choose their chairperson and vice-chairperson, a secretary and a treasurer. Regular meetings are held throughout the year where various issues are discussed and resolutions made. Minutes of meetings are forwarded to the headteacher to plan the way forward.
