As an Art and Art History student, you will discover the continually evolving nature of culture and explore contemporary and historical art practice. Interdisciplinary coursework, entrepreneurial thinking, and collaboration are all part of the Columbia experience. Through our exciting curriculum, you will master the technical, theoretical, and professional skills to adapt and thrive in modern culture's shifting landscape.
In the Business and Entrepreneurship department, you'll learn by doing. You will get college credit; you'll work in student-managed ventures such as our record labels, a talent agency, an online distribution company, a gallery, a nightclub, and a marketing agency. Our faculty of working professionals, a global alumni network, and internship and study abroad opportunities will prepare you for a rewarding career in the creative industry, graduate study in business or law, or to launch a new product or service as an entrepreneur.
The American Sign Language Department offers a major in ASL–English Interpretation, a major in Deaf Studies, and a minor in ASL Studies. Our curriculum emphasizes work with the Deaf population as a linguistic and cultural minority. The Commission accredits our ASL–English Interpretation program on Collegiate Interpreter Education. As a graduate of our department, you will not only become aware of and sensitive to issues concerning Deafness, you'll have the potential to become a cultural and linguistic mediator working across diverse communities.
In an increasingly interdisciplinary and competitive job market, skills in writing and oral communication are indispensable. The English and Creative Writing Department offers process-oriented, technologically supported, cross-disciplinary opportunities in literature, writing, and oral communication to cultivate your unique voice while preparing you to be a more thoughtful, conscientious citizen. Our programs—which include several undergraduate and graduate degrees and a range of minors—are led by renowned faculty, including esteemed scholars, well-published writers, and experienced practitioners.
You'll fulfill many of your Core requirements by taking classes in our department. However, you can also further explore your interests in the humanities by selecting one of four minors (Black World Studies, Cultural Studies, Latino and Latin American Studies, and Women's and Gender Studies), by researching with a favorite professor through the Undergraduate Mentorship Research Initiative, or by taking one of our many language courses. We are also proud to offer a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies, an undergraduate program ranked by Educational-Portal.com as one of the country's top 10 cultural studies programs.
You are automatically considered for Columbia College Chicago scholarships when you're admitted to the college. We offer renewable scholarships that take into consideration academic achievements, artistic talent, and financial need.
The mission of the Student Organizations and Leadership office is to promote student involvement and leadership development as a vital part of an arts and communications education. Through efforts to empower students as aware and purposeful citizens, we create quality learning experiences outside of the classroom that builds engagement and connection to Columbia College Chicago and its life and culture. Student Organizations and Leadership is located in The Loft (916 S. Wabash Ave. 4th Fl). The Loft is a student lounge space that provides students with meeting spaces, a microwave, television, laptops, and serves as a hub for student leadership.

The graduate Admissions & Services Office strives to provide our graduate student community with essential resources and information that support their personal and professional development. We also aim to effectively lead students through necessary administrative steps, which clear the way for success in the more essential aspects of graduate education. The Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) Office coordinates support services for students with disabilities and assists in providing a successful educational experience while attending Columbia College Chicago. The SSD Office strives to provide the most integrated and appropriate accommodations in classes, programs, and activities for students with disabilities. The SSD Office seeks to empower students' personal and academic success, encouraging them to become independent and self-reliant.
Our AES goal is to bring like-minded people who share many different passions for audio and build a strong community among them. We have events scheduled for each semester. We will be taking trips to various studios in Chicago, sharing mixing ideas, learning new technology, etc. We want everyone in this. A physician or nurse practitioner is available to provide outpatient clinical evaluation, treatment of minor illnesses, injuries, and evaluation and triage/referral for more serious illnesses or injuries. The Health Center also offers illness prevention measures, such as immunizations and flu vaccines.
