In addition to more than 100 academic programs, Clarion University students also enjoy enriching personal lives. With more than 130 student organizations, including academic, athletic, intramural, Greek, political, multicultural, service, and special interest groups, students become unique individuals and leaders at Clarion. Students live in police-patrolled housing with on-campus parking. Some of this housing is on campus while other options are nearby in university-affiliated apartments. There also is a wide assortment of dining options, including Eagle Commons (student dining hall), Starbucks, THE DEN by Denny's, Gemmell Food Court, Carlson Café, and a bakery. Clarion University also boasts its movie theater, CU Movies on Main, located in Suites on Main North along Main Street. The 188-person theatre offers second-run movies and concessions at reasonable prices. The movie theater is student-operated and provides employment opportunities for Clarion University students, giving them experience in management, marketing, and customer service. Main Street, lined with specialty shops and locally-owned restaurants, is located just steps away from our Clarion campus, allowing students to be an integral part of the community. Bus transportation is available to the Exit 62 business district off Interstate 80, which has the Clarion Mall, restaurants, and a movie theater. Upon graduation, students will join 56,524 alumni worldwide who have soared to success in their chosen fields. Besides offering many vibrant academic opportunities, Clarion University provides a wide range of activities outside the classroom. After all, coming to Clarion isn't just about earning a degree; it's also about building a life. Moreover, it's not hard to discover your interests and talents with more than 135 student organizations. If you're looking for something more physical, don't forget the student recreation center near Gemmell Student Complex for exercise equipment, an indoor track, basketball courts, and a rock-climbing wall. Intramurals, club sports, and outdoor recreation also are based at the rec center. If you don't play sports, become Clarion University's biggest fan by rooting for your favorite Clarion athletic teams. The university is also invested in its students' overall wellness with health services, counseling services, and other health activities in Becht Hall. Outside of your campus pursuits, Clarion's town boasts a vibrant downtown with many interesting shops and eateries.
