In response to the globalization trend and the policies of the Ministry of Education, FIT actively creates an international learning environment. Since FIT was founded, it has been engaged in increasing the number of overseas sister schools, conducting faculty exchanges, holding academic exchanges, signing double-degree programs, etc. So far, FIT has conducted student exchanges and academic exchanges with universities such as British Queen's University Belfast, United Pittsburg State University, Eastern Japan International University, University of Canberra, and signed a sister school agreement with Medaille College. Since 1998, FIT has been holding short-term overseas study tours. Every year, we send students to the United States, Japan, Australia, and other countries to enhance their language skills and expand their global vision. Also, FIT established the "American English Chat Room" to enhance students' English speaking ability. Through holding an annual international conference, FIT promotes international exchanges and cooperation. By holding international cultural exchanges for five consecutive years, FIT creates an international campus atmosphere to expand students' international view. In 2011, FIT organized an international volunteer team to Indonesia Rainbow Groups TU International School to conduct a two-week Chinese language teaching service, warmly welcomed by children and the school teachers. In the future, FIT w will actively explore overseas internship opportunities and hold job interviews with foreign enterprises. These can improve students' language skills, professional knowledge, and practical experiences to increase students' employability and competitiveness.

The FIT was founded in the foothills near the convergence of Qi-Mei Plain and Nan-Zi-Xian River. Founded in such a spectacular and elite-gathering place, FIT stands firmly to breed industry expertise, commerce, humanity, and science. It inherits the excellent humanity-geography tradition and then cultivate the spring-like, thriving, and accomplished excellent education legend on the fertile earth.
To strive for excellence and keep its endless education conscience and enthusiasm in the concrete foundation. The circular shape of the FIT badge is made of ring gears outside and high-rising mountains inside. The mountains, whose up-rising peak placed on a broad mountain range, symbolize that FIT was founded on the spectacular and elite-gathering Qi Shan, developing from steadiness toward excellence. The badge, which was surrounded the ring gear, symbolizes the never-ending education and learning pulse. And the white-blue color reveals a firm and strong belief in the significant undertaking of education.
On July 5, 1989, Fortune Junior College of Industry was founded in Qishan Township, Kaohsiung County. It was then renamed Fortune Junior College of Technology and Commerce in 1991. In 1995, the Extension Education Center was established in Kaohsiung City to promote recurrent education and lifelong learning. Later in 1998, Daliao Campus was established in Daliao Township of Kaohsiung County. One year later, in 1999, Fortune Junior College of Technology and Commerce was upgraded to Fortune Institute of Technology (FIT). In 2002, Daliao Second Campus was established in Daliao Township of Kaohsiung County, covering about ten hectares. To show the determination to strengthen industry-university cooperation and the teaching philosophy of applying knowledge to practices, Daliao Second Campus was renamed Dafa Campus. Currently, FIT has four colleges, sixteen departments, and a graduate school. The electrical college includes Electrical Engineering Graduate School, Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Electronic Engineering, Department of Information Engineering, and Department of Materials Science Engineering. The commercial management college includes the Department of Information Management, Department of Business Administration, Department of Finance, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, Department of Marketing and Logistics Management, Department of Applied Foreign Languages - English Japanese. The hospitality college includes the Department of Tourism and Leisure Management, Department of Catering Management, Department of Property Management. The design college includes the Department of Product Design, Department of Multimedia Design, and the Department of Communication Arts.
