Sheik-Yusuf Islam University (UNIS) Tangerang is College First established in Tangerang, established on April 14, 1966, and is one of the pioneers of Islamic higher education in Banten. The name of Sheik-Yusuf that bear the name of the University history briefly as follows:
Shaykh-Joseph is a scholar as well as a fighter. Thanks to his services, he was given the title of national hero by the state. Shaykh-Joseph was born on July 3, 1626, in Lakiung Makassar. His father was Sultan Alauddin King of Gowa to 14 (1593-1693), while his mother was Siti Aminah, the daughter of a headman. At the age of 18, Sheikh-Joseph has been migrated to other regions, leaving the kingdom of Gowa. Over the past five years, Sheikh-Joseph settled in Banten to study religion. To add to his knowledge, he then migrated to Yemen's land to demand science-Abi Tarekat to Sheikh Abdullah. As a young man whose thirst for knowledge, Sheik-Yusuf continued his studies in several cities in the Arab world for more than 15 years. During the colony, Sheik-Yusuf was known as a scholar wise.
