Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building is the competence and knowledge center in architecture and civil engineering in Western Siberia. The university trains professionals in a wide range of disciplines. Research is focused on developing innovative solutions for construction for cold climate conditions. TSUAB's strategy is to coupling business and academic communities via joint research and training to meet both sides' needs. TSUAB specialists are official experts in project engineering, testing, expertise, quality assessment, design, refurbishment, and strategic regional planning. The University was founded in 1952, is state-funded.
We are keen on keeping and developing the best architectural and constructional science and education traditions based on the united approach of teaching, practicing, and research. Highly qualified researchers share experience and train professionals who can explore new knowledge and leaders ready to face the competitive environment. The focus is on generating new knowledge and discovering innovative solutions to support the construction industry's dynamic progress and changes. The University contributes its best to architecture and construction in the country and the region. The strategic goal of 2017 is set as becoming a leading educational and research complex in architecture and building science, being one of the leading internationally-recognized technical universities in Russia. International education is one of the strategic goals of the TSUAB Complex Program of Development adopted in 2012. The primary outcome is the adjustment of the University's educational standards to modern needs and tendencies.
Thirty-eight departments research TSUAB according to their areas of expertise. The research centers are organized in the priority research areas. Those are advanced building materials, Regional Project Institute. TSUAB focuses its competencies on innovation and technology for cold climate conditions.
