Today we live in the age of rapid changes, innovations, and physical and social mobility growth. Contemporary scholars call modern society a knowledge society where information and communication play a key role. Education is considered an investment into its own social and cultural capital; therefore, an educational institution's choice is the principal's decision in human life.
Pedagogical education and teacher training is an essential mission of our University. Moscow Pedagogical State University combines the tradition and modernity expressed in the foundational pedagogical education and applied features of teaching subjects simultaneously. Contemporary theoretical and applied knowledge is the leading competitive factor of future teachers. MSPU is the only pedagogical University in Russia which Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, visited on the First Day of Knowledge of the new century and millennium – September 1, 2001. Vladimir Putin underlined, Moscow State Pedagogical is a model that all other country's pedagogical universities aim at. We are proud that thousands of Russian and foreign citizens graduated from our University and became first-class specialists in the specific field of sciences and education. MSPU personnel will do everything possible to make education in MSPU one of the brightest impressions of your life.
Our University is one of the oldest Russian Universities, and this imposes on us certain obligations concerning the whole system of education in Russia and pedagogical universities. Our understanding of University history is connected with the synthesis of traditions and innovations. Our main task deals with maintaining the continuing history of MSPU, developing its glorious traditions, and defining our University's future appearance. Talent, self-sacrifice, loyalty to the professional choice, and civil responsibility for the younger generation's education have always distinguished graduates of our University – its honor and fame. It is necessary to harmonize the unity of shared culture, axiological, psychological and pedagogical, fundamental and objective and methodical components while preparing future teachers to train cultured, creative people who can react quickly and adequately to the challenges of time. We have to create the pedagogical University of the XXI century.
The University holds scientific conferences, practical seminars, workshops on items of current importance. The professor staff supports scientists from abroad, involving them in particular research projects, international conferences, and seminars. MSPU also helps to publish papers of foreign colleagues in scientific periodicals. MSPU also participates in many projects oriented towards innovative education in different fields, such as modern teaching methods, investigations on contemporary mentalities, economic globalization, IT-technologies in education, etc.
The international activities of MSPU are focused on academic and scientific cooperation. However, we pay special attention to supporting international students with their studies and living in Moscow. One of our top priorities for the nearest perspective is to enroll MSPU students in the Mobility Programme supported by European and International Educational Organisations. MSPU established close ties with several internationally recognized schools and universities and productively cooperated with its partners in student and faculty staff exchanges, scientific projects, conferences, and seminars. We strongly believe in the future of internship programs as a way of student exchanges, first in preschool and school teaching and training organized in MSPU partner-schools of Moscow. Moscow State University of Education is looking forward to prospective ideas in international cooperation and would be delighted to make new partnerships for mutual prosperity.
