The Wilhelm Lohe University of Applied Sciences (WLH) is a private state-recognized university of applied sciences. It is situated in a beautiful large park in the Southern part of Furth. The growing health and social market is highly complex and requires interdisciplinary expertise. Economic, technical, or health scientific expertise is achieved through consistent value orientation. As fundamental ethical challenges, we identify, among others, the understanding of human life, of quality of life, health and death with consequences for legal and moral claims and obligations, concrete guidance on dilemmas between protection of life, quality of life, and appropriate medication, financing and equitable allocation of care and care services as well as distribution decisions, appropriate care in the face of demographic shifts, research and research ethics in health technology and pharmaceutical industries, guiding ethos and corporate culture of carriers and providers or the sustainability of value-linked providers in the health and social market in a pluralistic society.
All research activities at WLH are characterized by an interdisciplinary approach of all professions and disciplines present at WLH. Furthermore, there is a manifold of cooperations with other universities and Colleges as well as companies.
IDC is the organizational bracket for collaborative Research at WLH. Besides working on ist own Projects, it coordinates projects and research-topics for the whole WLH.
Communication between the professors shall be used to initiate joint research projects and coordinate teaching activities across different subjects on a departmental level. Finally, each professor at WLH can pursue their research interests and combine them with their teaching activities.
