Vilniaus kolegija/University of Applied Sciences (Vilnius College) offers a house for international students coming under the Erasmus program, and full-time studies in the Students' Hostel are situated close to the city center.
The hostel is a comparatively old but newly renovated building. It has double – furnished rooms, and bed-clothes are provided. There is a possibility to live alone in the room or share it with another student. There is a shared kitchen and shower shared between several rooms. Internet connection is available.
Orientation Week will be one of your studies' many exciting times and a tradition you will not want to miss! It is an ideal opportunity for you to know Vilniaus kolegija/University of Applied Sciences (VIKO), Vilnius, and make new friends before starting your studies. The Orientation Week will take place from 28th to 31st August 2017.
The Orientation Week offers you informational events, excursions, icebreakers, and many other activities to help you become acquainted with Vilnius, meet other new students, get prepared for studies.
Vilniaus kolegija/University's of Applied Sciences (VIKO) international strategy is an integral part of the newly developed "Integrated development strategy of Vilniaus kolegija/University of Applied Sciences until the year 2020". The development of EHEA determines the internationalization development process at VIKO.
Over ten years of its existence VIKO has achieved significant heights in the international dimension: has set up a stable network of foreign partners and is involved in several key international organizations, uniting higher education institutions and their boards by itself organizes these organizations' and other international conferences have signed a cooperation agreement with the European Union and other countries' institutions of higher education annually manages numerous international projects and participates in students and teachers' exchanges. While evaluating the VIKO international activities, along with the enumerated achievements, it is necessary to mention the existing gaps that impede the further development of internationalization, that is, the lack of programs in a foreign language, poor choice of courses in foreign languages, insufficiency of teachers' readiness to work in a multicultural environment and foreign language knowledge, as well as the lack of projects and programs diversity and the infrastructure, being a subject of improvement.
A new phase in the development of VIKO is associated with the emphasis on the importance of study internationalization and all the departments' closer cooperation in developing this activity sphere. Internationalization development is one of the six strategic objectives of the institution. It includes the development of international studies, internationalization of the study process, a network of partners, students, staff mobility, and disseminating information about VIKO international activities.
To ensure the quality of international activities, it is necessary to carry out a strategic partnership assessment. In 2012, the College signed 130 LLP/Erasmus bilateral agreements with foreign institutions of higher education in 28 European countries. In the following years, VIKO aims at developing a system and methods to evaluate the partnership's priorities and direction, durability, and mutual benefit.
