Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences is well-known in Lithuania's education market as an educational institution with the traditions of engineering specialist training and with significant experience in training specialists - practicians.
Its beginning goes back to 1920 when the first Kaunas Higher Technical School was founded. It was the first educational institution training engineering specialists in independent Lithuania.
Today Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences is creatively working, open to innovations, harmonious team, and training engineering specialists working in a changing environment.
Our Vision is to be higher, public service providing educational institutions, training high-quality engineering specialists, and meeting regional, local, and global labor market requirements. It is competitive in the educational market, modern, learning, open to community and society needs organization, basing its activity on high-quality principles, implementing scientific applied research, satisfying the needs of knowledge and information society, capable of implementing innovations for continuous development and modernization, as well as preserving lasting traditions and culture of the school. It is an accredited center of scientific research with personal research space and the center of engineering consultations and human resource development in the engineering branch.
Our Mission is to develop engineering studies, corresponding to knowledge society needs and European Union standards, create, store and propagate scientific knowledge and modern practical experience in the society, maximally participating in the country and regional development and competitiveness of the economy, continuing the interwar tradition in Lithuania to be the school-leader in this activity field.
We are pleased to note that engineering studies have become more and more popular. High-school graduates from all over the country come to study at Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences, and that entrants' competition is markedly increasing. We take pride in our employees, students, and graduates who have achieved professional heights and hold leading positions in business, work in the fields of sciences, art, and politics.
The growing number of international students is increasing. Kaunas technical college has a new student - Yunus Sepetçi, from Karabuk University (Turkey). Karabuk University is an international partner for several years already, and each year one or two students arrive for studies. Yunus will study in SP "Automobile Technical Maintenance." Muammar Erkenci from Recep Tayyip ErdoğanUniversity (Turkey) has successfully passed the Autumn semester examination and will continue his Electronic engineering studies in the Spring semester. We wish them good luck and lots of good impressions during their Erasmus + mobility period.
Kaunas technical college develops international activities, strengthens relations with foreign partners, and looks for new cooperation methods. This year a "Material processing engineering" fourth-year student Rolandas Šertvytis became an exceptional graduate. His graduation thesis supervisor is a lecturer from Riga technical university and Riga technical college, associated with professor Viktor Gutakovskis. Throughout the study year, achieving the best results, the student courageously meets the challenges he faces - writes the graduation thesis, communicating with the supervisor in a foreign language, and prepare a publication for the graduation thesis on the topic "Turning machine guides repair technology."
