Here we describe what happened before the new higher education institution could be formed. Stockholm University of the Arts (Uniarts) provides education and research in circus, dance, film, media, opera, and performing arts. With our unique composition of education and artistic research, we want to create new opportunities for tomorrow's societal development and knowledge. At Uniarts, you will find an attractive study and work environment, in which we strive to achieve a broad recruitment of students and employees. With the flourishing environment for artistic research, we have unique opportunities to deepen the study programs and create collaborative transdisciplinary projects. Together we create dynamic meeting places for independent artists, educators, and researchers in dialogue with the society around us, both nationally and internationally. Stockholm University of the Arts was established in 2014 when DOCH the School of Dance and Circus, the University College of Opera, and the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts merged. We have about 500 students and 250 employees.
