Emmanuel College is a co-educational, multi-denominational school of 1,500 students, valued by the Gold Coast community for our firm commitment to achieving educational excellence within a framework of thoughtful, intelligent, and vibrant Christian faith. As a Christian College, we ensure that:

• Our teachers have committed Christians from a wide range of churches and denominations
• Our students are taught in an environment which emphasizes Christian values and prepares them for living with integrity and high standards within all areas of their lives
• Throughout their Emmanuel career, each student completes a Christian Education subject, teaching the foundations of the Christian faith
• We provide Christian service and mission opportunities for students who wish to explore their faith on a deeper level.

Our Vision Knowing, Loving, Serving The Emmanuel College vision embodies the critical areas of learning within our College: Spiritual Learning and Knowing Learning about God, truth, morality, values, and beliefs. Academic Study Learning about the world and society through all academic disciplines, including mathematics, language, sciences, technologies, the arts, and sport. Social Relationships Learning to make friends, negotiate complicated relationships, learning to embrace other cultures and people.

The Emmanuel College Compass is the logo for The Journey program. The Compass represents the essential character traits to help students find the best direction for their lives. As a part of the Emmanuel College community, students will share this journey as they work towards becoming an Emmanuel graduate.

The Emmanuel Graduate ought to be: A compassionate human being, unafraid to be competent and willing to navigate life using their moral Compass to make wise and just choices, a strategic participant in a global setting, a person of faith integrity, aware of eternal destiny.

He desires to fully equip our students to live meaningful lives beyond school springs directly from our unique multi-denominational Christian heritage. This heritage means that tolerance and diversity is part of our DNA, as is the desire to make a positive difference to our world.

It means that we intentionally weave critical, future skills into our teaching programs - skills such as problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution as well as those skills associated with our motto "knowing, loving, serving" such as empathy, compassion, concern for justice, and servant-leadership. Our very simple philosophy drives all this for teaching, learning, and pastoral care.

We believe that the four cornerstones of success are happiness, security, self-worth, and fulfillment. We value these four traits as highly as effort or academic rigor. When these four cornerstones are in place, students often achieve success, often spectacularly, and achievement breeds even greater happiness, security, self-worth, and fulfillment. The pattern continues. So our teaching and pastoral care center on those things that ensure the growth of these four cornerstones on collaboration and mutual support, helping every student develop the desire to have-a-go, on the students' well-being, and most importantly, on seeing the value in every individual student.

The result is that Emmanuel College students often do not even realize how much progress they are making, and, as our results show, they do make exceptional progress. They find school enjoyable - as one student recently told a reporter when asked about NAPLAN-week stress, "it is not stressful at all, it's just good fun".

Judging by our alumni (amongst whom we can count individuals leading research into eradicating Malaria, others setting up and running children's hospices, and others representing Australia in sports ranging from swimming to soccer to wake-boarding), this exceptional achievement continues into adult life. However, we are as proud of our current students representing the College at the highest levels in numerous disciplines, forums, and leadership roles.
