Wrexham Glyndŵr University started in 2008, so we are still among the youngest universities in the UK. It is a vibrant, friendly place where each student's learning and future is given personal attention. Our name comes from Welsh scholar and hero Owain Glyndŵr, and we aim to champion some of the same philosophies as him. The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) was formed on 18 November 2010 through the merger of the University of Wales Lampeter and Trinity University College Carmarthen, under Lampeter’s Royal Charter of 1828. Coleg Sir Gâr was created in 1985 and became a corporate institution in 1993. In 2013 it became Coleg Sir Gar Ltd, a company within the University of Wales: Trinity Saint David Group, and part of a regional Dual Sector University. The College has an annual turnover of over £30m and employs around 800 staff.
