At Wheaton, we focus all our energies on doing one thing incredibly well: creating opportunities for our students to learn, lead, and achieve. Our distinctive liberal arts education combines rigorous academic study with real-world experience. Nearly every student (96 percent) will complete at least one internship or another experiential learning project before graduation.
The college’s strength begins with the faculty: renowned researchers, scholars, and artists as well as dedicated teachers and mentors. Their commitment to teaching shows how professors work closely with students beyond the classroom on projects that put theory into action. The value of what we do is reflected in our well-earned reputation for student achievement. Since 2000, more than 220 Wheaton students have won prestigious international scholarships, such as the Rhodes, Marshall, and Fulbright awards. For eight consecutive years, the college has ranked among the top 10 liberal arts colleges in the nation in preparing Fulbright Scholars.
Our residential campus buzzes with activity, too. We host visiting artists, musicians, writers, scholars, and public intellectuals each semester, in addition to events featuring our students and faculty. Also, we field 21 NCAA athletic teams, host more than 100 student-run clubs, and offer a full intramural sports program.

At Wheaton, students follow their interests and pursue their passion. You can explore more than 100 majors and minors within the liberal arts and sciences, plus design your course of study. And you will receive tremendous support for internships, independent and collaborative research projects, and many other learning experiences outside of classwork.
With more than 600 courses, 47 majors, and 59 minors, you will find plenty of opportunities to discover how the arts and sciences, humanities, and social sciences complement each other. There are so many possibilities that it is hard to limit yourself to one over 20% of Wheaton students are double majors.
We believe education is an active pursuit and our faculty share their experiences and expertise at the intersection of theory and practice. The college has more than 130 full-time faculty members, and roughly 90 percent hold Ph.D.s or the most significant degree in their field of expertise. They teach nearly 600 courses leading to over 100 majors and minors and genuinely reflect the breadth of our academic experience.
